Original Form is seeking a Design Lead that will be a hands-on designer ready to grow into leadership. They will lead projects from concept through delivery while staying close to the craft, contributing directly across brand and digital. They mentor junior designers, guide day-to-day creative on assigned projects, and partner with the Creative Director to maintain a high bar across the work. This role sits at the inflection point between strong individual contribution and team leadership, with a clear path toward expanded responsibility as the studio grows.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and contribute to projects from concept through completion across brand identity, websites, product interfaces, and campaigns.
- Translate strategy and brief into design directions and systems that hold up across touchpoints.
- Apply systems thinking to brand identities and digital products to ensure outcomes are dynamic, scalable, and connected.
- Prototype and bring ideas to life through motion and interaction tools, demonstrating how designs feel, move, and behave.
- Maintain a high bar for craft, details, and consistency, from concept through final files.
- Lead a small team of designers on assigned projects, balancing delegation with hands-on contribution.
- Mentor junior talent, supporting their growth and strengthening craft, decision-making, and confidence.
- Delegate work clearly, with context on objectives and constraints while maintaining craft excellence.
- Contribute to a team culture that pairs high standards with care.
- Serve as the design and craft expert in the room, confidently walking clients through decisions, rationale, and strategy with authority.
- Translate client feedback into clear next steps for the team, protecting the integrity of the work.
- Partner with strategists, developers, and other creatives to connect design to business objectives and translate insights into clear creative executions.
- Bring informed perspective to early project phases, helping shape approach, scope, and creative direction.
- Present in pitch meetings and contribute design point of view to new business when relevant.
- Stay current on culture, design, and category-specific shifts, bringing that perspective back into the work.

- Curious about culture, business, and the brands you work with, and able to translate that curiosity into the work.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving needs, with the resilience to hold a point of view and the flexibility to evolve it.
- Thrives in a boutique pace, comfortable jumping in and moving work forward with minimal hand-holding, with the judgment to know when something needs another set of eyes.
What You'll Need
- 5-7 years of design experience in a fast-paced agency, studio, or in-house brand environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership across brand, digital product, and campaign projects, ideally in fashion, luxury, health and wellness, or hospitality.
- Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with experience working in and building design systems.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, prototyping, and web accessibility.
- Some experience managing or mentoring junior designers, even informally.
- Excellent verbal and visual presentation skills, with proven client-facing experience.
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to hold multiple workstreams at once.
- Foundational knowledge of print processes is a plus, as is motion or video editing experience
